FAR EASTERN ENVIRONMENTAL PUBLIC INTERESTS ORGANIZATION "ECODAL" |
About OrganizationIn 1994-1998 the Russian-USA program "Russian Far East Sustainable Natural Resource Management Project (EPT/RFE)" was implemented in Khabarovskii and Primorskii krais. It had three blocks and one . of them was "Policy and Legislation". The project of the Forest Code of Khabarovskii krai was designed in the block frame (In December of 1998 the Code was adopted by Krai Legislative Duma). The Code was designed over 3 years by an expert team. Some of team members had worked together for a long time before the Program, while others were newly involved. When they worked as a team, they strengthened and expanded their reputation and influence in the krai ecological situation. When their work was successfully completed, they didn't want to disappear as a new force. They decided to get a license of an organization that occupies so called "central" position in ecology and natural resource use. "Central" means that it is without extreme alarmism in ecology but without conciliation with injurious exhaustible natural resource use. The group of experts established "Ecodal" in 1998. The Ecodal's vision is to unite all citizens who care about nature, to provide access for any volunteer, to include any one without accounting what is his/her specialization or job position. The Far Eastern environmental public interests (non-government) organization "Ecodal" is a voluntary self-managed non-commercial union of citizens. The main places of "Ecodal" activity is Khabarovskii and Primorskii krais but it can also work in the other Russian Federation territories. Certificate: 647 of 12.05.1998 is given by Khabarovsk Krai Department of Justice. Since 2002 the organization has been a member of IUCN (The International Union for the Conservation of Nature), and has been a member of the International Informal Organization "Taiga Rescue Network" since 2000.
